Vivo is anticipated to broaden its main product range later this year with the Vivo X500 series. A recent leak gives an initial look at what to expect, indicating various display size choices and some preliminary camera information. This new collection will follow the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro, which were released in China in October 2025, while the X300 Ultra is set to come out later in March 2026. Previous reports have also suggested improvements in performance, battery life, and screen technology for the next version. According to a Weibo post from a source named Smart Pikachu (translated from Chinese), the upcoming Vivo X500 series might be available in two display sizes, with options for 6.4-inch and 6.9-inch screens. The larger model, likely the Vivo X500 Pro Max, is said to be being tested with a 50-megapixel main camera that uses LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology. This camera design is intended to handle extra charge in bright situations by channeling overflow electrons into a specific capacitor, which could significantly improve dynamic range and lessen overexposure.

The Vivo X500 Pro Max is also rumored to have a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which indicates a strong emphasis on long-distance zoom functions. Moreover, Vivo is reportedly looking into a multispectral sensor to enhance color accuracy and white balance. While not confirmed in the leak, the camera system might also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor as part of its overall design. A previous report suggested that the Vivo X500 Pro Max might run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro SoC with a 7,000mAh battery. It could also come with a 2K LTPO flat display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, along with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for security. The Vivo X500 series, which is expected to have a standard version, a Pro version, and the Pro Max variant, may be released in China this September. Xiaomi's new flagship series, known as the Xiaomi 18 series, is likely to be revealed in the country around the same period.
