The palette of colors that Apple iPhone comes in is increasing this week, as the company releases a red special edition of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
The new special edition will be available to pre-order on Friday (March 14th) in the United States and around the world. The red color it gets is to mark the tenth anniversary between Apple and the AIDS fighting organization (RED), the tech giant announced on Tuesday (March 21st). The company will start shipping the phones by the end of this month.
The AIDS organization raises money through the sale of branded products for a group called the Global Fund, which invests funds in local programs to put an end to AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis as epidemics across the globe. The organizations funding goes to HIV programs in Africa, the organization said.
Apple contributes more than $130 million as part of its partnership with RED, and it is the world’s largest corporate donor to the Global Fund. Debrah Dugan the CEO of RED said in a statement.
Apple iPhones already come in rose gold, gold, silver, black and jet black colors.
The company officials also announced on Tuesday that it is dropping on its 9.7 inch iPad with Retina display.
