1 killed in Cincinnati Night Club Shooting

One was killed and more than dozens were injured, when a man opened fire inside a crowded nightclub in Cincinnati on early Sunday.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots at Cameo NightLife at around 1 a.m. located in the 4600 block of Kellogg Avenue, according to the police.
Police officials at a news conference said, that 16 people were shot in the shooting.

27-year-old Obryan Spikes died in the shooting, while another 15 victims were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious, police said.

Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot Isaac said, one victim remained in "extremely critical condition."

Assistant Police Chief of Cincinnati, Paul Neudigate in a tweet said that only one suspect had been reported, though officials later said that they believed multiple suspects were involved in the shooting, in what started as an argument.

“Several local men got into a dispute inside the bar and it escalated into shots being fired,” Isaac explained, adding that the club does “wand individuals and pat them down, however, what we know at this point, several firearms were able to be brought inside the bar.”

“The conflict is believed to have begun between specific groups of individuals earlier in the day, escalating to the nightclub tragedy,” the City of Cincinnati’s official account tweeted.

At the time of the shooting more than hundred people were in the club, several of them fled the scene, making it difficult for investigators to identify witnesses, authorities said.

The nightclubs’ Facebook page says that it hosts college students on Friday night, anyone over 18 is allowed, while Saturdays are “grown and sexy night” for ages 21 and older.

Governor John Kasich said that he was "saddened to learn about last night's shooting" and offered assistance from the state.

Anyone with information regarding the incident are asked to contact police, while Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Rudy will reward $10,000 to the person, whose information will lead to an arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
