Woman inhales Nitrous Oxide in front of Police

An armed woman in Santa Rosa inhaled nitrous oxide from a whipping cream container in front of police officers on Saturday, before being arrested for the possession of a gun and ammunition insider her vehicle, said Santa Rosa police.

The bizarre incident began at around 12 p.m. when police received a report about a woman suspect sitting in her car, which was parked near the public entrance of the emergency department at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, with a gun in her possession, according to the police.

The first officer, who reached at the scene, carried on a conversation with the female and other passengers in the vehicle until backup arrived. At a point, the suspect “began taking hits off a 'whip-it cracker' in an attempt to get high from the nitrous oxide," according to police.

Eventually, police officers managed to pull the woman out from the car and took her into custody, police said. Officers found a 0.45 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a loaded magazine inside a purse resting on the floor of the car. The purse was found directly beneath where the suspect was sitting.

Police said that they do not believe the woman pointed the gun in a “threatening manner” at anyone walking outside the hospital.

Police officers arrested the woman, and she has been charged with inhaling nitrous oxide with intent to get high and carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, police said.
