According to sources, five individuals linked to significant roles within the Pakistan-based terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba were eliminated during the early stages of Operation Sindoor. This operation involved Indian military forces targeting terrorist camps located deep in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir on the morning of May 7. The terrorists were named Mudassar Khadian Khas, Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, Khalid, also known as Abu Akasha, and Mohammad Hassan Khan. Images circulating on social media showcased high-ranking officers from the Pakistani military attending the funerals of these terrorists, revealing a longstanding relationship between the Pakistani army and terrorist organizations.

Mudassar Khas, who was alternatively referred to as Abu Jundal, had ties to the Lashkar-e-Taiba. He oversaw Markaz Taiba, a terror training facility situated in Muridke, Pakistan, approximately 25 kilometers from the Indian border, which served as the LeT's main base. Ajmal Kasab, the sole terrorist captured alive during the 2008 Mumbai attacks, admitted to having received training at this camp, while David Headley, another dual citizen involved in the attacks of November 26, 2008, also reportedly trained there. Sources indicated that Khas's funeral was officiated by Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a designated global terrorist, held at a government school. The ceremony featured a guard of honor from the Pakistan Army, with prominent military officers placing wreaths on behalf of General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, and Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab Province. Attendees included a serving Lieutenant General from the Pakistan Army and the Inspector General of Police from Punjab.

Jameel had connections to Jaish-e-Mohammed and was related to Maulana Masood Azhar, the founder of the group. He was in charge of Markaz Subhan Allah, located in Bahawalpur, roughly 100 kilometers inside Pakistan, where he played a vital role in radicalizing potential JeM recruits and fundraising efforts. This Bahawalpur facility functioned as a site for recruiting, training, and indoctrinating new terrorists and had been visited by Azhar himself. The May 7 attack on the terror camp resulted in the deaths of at least ten relatives of Azhar along with four of his associates, as per a statement linked to the wanted terrorist.
