Several health experts have warned that the kids would be more impacted due to the third wave of coronavirus and they would get contracted with the deadly virus in huge numbers. The vaccination manufacturers of India have been conducting the trials and a clarity on the research is expected to be out in September. The clinical trials are in final stages but the production is yet to commence for the same. After the cases of coronavirus came down in India in large numbers, several state governments announced the reopening of schools in their states. More than eight states and union territories reopened the schools and some other states are keen to reopen them soon.

Maintaining social distance in the schools is a major challenge for the authorities. With the process of vaccination for children delayed, several state governments are in plans to vaccinate the teachers along with the staff and the eligible students. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the list of the states that are reopening from August 2nd. Some other schools are reopened from August 16th. The government of Punjab vaccinated 60 percent of the teaching and non-teaching staff with at least one dose. Even the parents are quite interested to send their kids to school as per the recent surveys. Karnataka government made it mandatory for the teachers to take the vaccination before the schools reopen on August 23rd.

The government of Maharashtra too allocated an ample number of doses for the teachers but the schools are yet to reopen. The Ministry of Education also kept a close watch on the vaccination of the teachers across all the states.
