A total number of 15,786 new cases of coronavirus are reported in India in the last 24 hours. As per the reports from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Kerala continues to be the top contributor of Covid-19 cases in India and the active caseload is at 1,75,745 and it is the lowest in the last 232 days in India. The active cases account to less than 1 percent of the total caseload in India and it is 0.51 percent. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of the country for the achievement of 100 crore vaccine doses that are administered in India by yesterday. He said that the country is stronger and he credited the success for the trust of the people.
More than 104.5 crore doses of coronavirus are given to the states and the union territories. There are 11.65 crore doses available with the states. Narendra Modi told "When everyone takes ownership, nothing is impossible. Our healthcare workers traversed hills and crossed rivers across difficult geographies to vaccinate people. Our youth, social workers, healthcare workers, social and religious leaders, all deserve credit for the fact that India faces minimal vaccine hesitancy when compared to even developed nations,". Bill Gates congratulated Narendra Modi and he posted on twitter saying "India has administered 1 billion vaccine doses, a testament to India's innovation, ability to manufacture at scale, and the efforts of millions of health workers backed by CoWIN.
