Xiaomi 17 Ultra is predicted to be released by the Chinese smartphone company later this month as a follow-up to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. This phone could be the fourth entry in the newly launched Xiaomi 17 series, which already includes the regular Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Although the main features of the phone have been appearing online for some time, its appearance is still unknown. Recently, a source has provided a picture of the claimed Xiaomi 17 Ultra's back camera setup, which seems to differ from the circular Leica camera design of its predecessor. On a post from the Chinese social media site Weibo, the source Smart Pikachu (translated from Chinese) has shared a photo of what is believed to be the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, showing the design of its back camera setup. The device shows a rectangular camera design positioned in the center of the back panel. It features four camera lenses, with one likely being a periscope telephoto lens. Additionally, the back camera setup might include a dual LED flash configuration.
There are extra openings within the camera section, which may hold other sensors. The image of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra shows the phone in a black finish. However, the final model might have a rear cover since the picture shows it with exposed screw holes at the corners. Furthermore, it appears to have a metal frame. As the company has not officially confirmed the launch of an Ultra version, this information should be considered with caution. More information about the rumored device is likely to emerge in the upcoming weeks. If this does depict the final design of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra's back camera setup, the brand may be stepping away from the circular design seen in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Although the company chose to keep the square camera design from the Xiaomi 15 for the Xiaomi 17, the same might not apply to the rumored Ultra model.
Moreover, a recent report suggested that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is set to launch in China in December. This device is expected to feature Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which utilizes a 3nm fabrication process. For its camera capabilities, it is anticipated to come with a triple rear camera system, unlike its predecessor that had four cameras. The phone could include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera on its back.
