Fans of the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos have begun to arrive in the Bay area from Thursday, through its three major airports. Airport authorities offered hearty welcomes the Super Bowl fans, but they also urged the expected jams on the airport.
Airport officials said that, there is around 50 percent more passengers than regular, are expected to walk out of the Bay area through board flights and Jetways, on Monday.
The fans were excited about the Sunday’s game and the pre-game festivities, such as drink, food, trips to vineyards and Alcatraz Country and Super Bowl City in the San Francisco.
A Super Bowl fan, Doug Moreland, who arrived at San Francisco International Airport, said that, “It’s going to be fabulous, we are going to have a good time before, and we’re hoping to head home with a win.”
Doug Moreland, said that, “we are Bronco fans and football fans, and this is the top football event of the year, probably the top sporting event of the year.”
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the biggest airport of the Bay area. Airport officials are expecting the peak arrival of the Super Bowl fans on Friday. Oakland International airport and Mineta San Jose International are also expecting the huge influx of the fans on Thursday.
According to the airport officials, for the accommodation of the added commercial flights, to hundreds of private jets and heavier passenger load, they have worked together.
Fans are expected to flood the airports after the game is over. Officials of the airport, advises fans to check out from their hotels at least five hours in advance and reach at check in at least before three hours of departure. A spokeswoman for Mineta San Jose airport, Rosemary Barnes, said that, “we want to make sure everyone makes their flight.”
